Here’s the reason.

When a child is within its mother’s womb, the most frequent thing or sound it could hear all the time is the heart-beat of the mother. For the entire nine lunar months of the pregnancy, the child will be used to this heart-beat and will sleep, awake, and do everything while listening to this.

And at the time of birth, this heart-beat-music that the child is been listening to all these days will be suddenly stopped, that is not felt by him/her any longer as it is no out of the womb. Many experts strongly belive that this is the most probable reasons as to why the child always cries at the childbirth.

And when you carry the crying baby, and hold it close to your heart, it will again start to listen to your heart-beat, that is when the baby will stop wheening.
